DMA STATEMENT: Succession Plan Status
June 30, 2004
The Direct Marketing Association's (The DMA) Executive Search Committee is continuing in its mission to conduct the most comprehensive search process to ensure the selection of a new president and chief executive to lead the Association.
The DMA is confident that the search process is moving along in an appropriate and efficient manner, consistent with the principles originally outlined by The DMA Board and the Executive Search Committee.
As soon as the Search Committee concludes its process, the name of new head of the Association will be announced.
In his original announcement, last December, H. Robert Wientzen, current President & CEO, The DMA, had stated his intention to step down on June 30, 2004. However, at the time, he also stated that he had been asked by the Board, and had agreed, to stay on longer, if needed to ensure a seamless transition.
