DMEF Announces Four Dynamic New Members to Board of Trustees
New York, NY, June 15, 2010 — The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) today announced four new Board members: Christine Aguilera, president of SkyMall; Warren Hunter, chairman and CEO of DMW Direct; Wesley Protheroe, president and CEO of Gerber Life Insurance Company; and Jerry Shereshewsky, chief grown-up of GrownUpMarketing to its Board of Trustees. The terms commenced earlier today following a DMEF board meeting in New York City.
DMEF’s Board of Trustees, which operates independent of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), is made up of more than 40 corporate and academic professionals. They are responsible for creating and implementing programs that position DMEF as the go-to source for direct/interactive marketing education at the college and university level by attracting, educating, and placing top college students in the business of direct/interactive marketing.
“Because DMEF’s success rests on the shoulders of our Trustees, we are delighted to welcome these four remarkable professionals to the Board,” said DMEF chairman, and president and CEO of KnowledgeBase Marketing, Gary S. Laben. “It is truly inspiring to work alongside all these dedicated individuals as we continue to strengthen and fulfill the Foundation’s mission to significantly impact the future of this exciting profession.”

New Board Members
· Christine Aguilera, President, SkyMall
Aguilera joined Skymall in 1997, and has served in numerous positions including general counsel and chief financial officer. In October 2003, she was promoted to president. Prior to Skymall, she was an attorney with the firm Squires Sanders Dempsey in Phoenix, and also worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers.
· Warren Hunter, Chairman and CEO, DMW Direct
With nearly 40 years in marketing, Hunter has worked on both the client side and the agency side of business. He was named Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association’s Marketer of the year in 2006, and DMA’s Financial Services Council’s Marketer of the Year in 2008. He has served on the Board of the Professional Insurance Marketing Association, and served nine years on DMA’s ECHO Board of Governors.
· Wesley Protheroe, President and CEO, Gerber Life Insurance Company
Under Protheroe’s leadership over the last seven years, the repositioned Gerber Life has grown by 97 percent. Drawing on his broad range of brand, direct marketing, and product innovation experience, he demonstrates the power of true multichannel marketing. Before joining Gerber Life Insurance, Protheroe served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Great American Insurance. He has won numerous awards and in 2007 was selected as DMA’s Direct Marketer of the Year.
· Jerry Shereshewsky, Chief Grown-Up, GrownUpMarketing
Starting in the mailroom at Young & Rubicam in New York 39 years ago, Shereshewsky personifies the opportunities in this great field. Most recently he started a marketing consultancy, GrownUpMarketing, to help marketers take advantage of the opportunities in the baby boomer market, as well as trade marketing to the advertising industry. During his career he served as senior vice president at Young & Rubicam, Wunderman, and Burson Marsteller. He also ran sales and marketing for a division of BMG Music and spent nine years running marketing for Yahoo’s multi-billion dollar media sales organization world-wide.
