eec Founder Exits Ogilvy for Zinio Systems and VIV Magazine; Retains eec Leadership
February 6, 2008 — Jeanniey Mullen, the founder of Email Experience Council (eec), DMA’s email marketing arm, is leaving her position as executive director of OgilvyOne worldwide’s Global Email and Digital Dialogue practice to join Zinio Systems and VIV Magazine as the Global EVP and CMO. Mullen will begin her new position on February 18, 2008. Even with this move, she will maintain her current eec leadership role, which is substantial.
“DMA greatly appreciates the impressive expertise and day-to-day leadership Jeanniey has provided so generously since eec’s founding in May 2006,” DMA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Lakshmi-Ratan, Ph.D. said, “and we are delighted that she will continue her involvement with the council. Moving forward, we look to find ways to broaden the eec’s focus on email to be more inclusive of this channel’s increasingly significant impact on consumers’ digital lifestyle and media consumption habits.”
Mullen is the Executive Chairwoman of the eec and an Executive Director and Senior Partner, Global Email Marketing and Digital Dialogue Services at OgilvyOne worldwide, a global leader in customer relationship management and interactive marketing. There, she established and leads the global email practice across all clients.
Prior to joining OgilvyOne, Mullen founded and ran her own interactive agency. Before that, she served as the CMO and EVP at Avalon Digital Marketing Systems, where she helped launch one of the first B-to-B email platforms that incorporated on-demand video into the email message. Mullen is recognized in the industry as pioneering the first international email marketing practice inside a global agency while at Grey Direct.
Mullen is seen as a thought leader and visionary in the email an digital marketing field. Her expertise in the discipline spans both the B-to-B and B-to-C industries. In addition to her active role in the eec, Mullen is a columnist for ClickZ, has published numerous white papers and best practice guides, and is a frequent speaker on the topics of email marketing and the infusion of face to face marketing online.
