DMANF Names Christopher M. Quinn as Executive Director
March 9, 2009 — The Nonprofit Federation of the Direct Marketing Association (DMANF) today announced that Christopher M. Quinn, assistant vice president of Membership for the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), has joined the DMANF as its executive director. He will report directly to Senny Boone, DMA’s senior vice president, Corporate & Social Responsibility, and will be based in DMA’s Washington, DC office.
In his new role, Quinn will direct the DMANF within DMA’s policies and procedures; advance the interests of nonprofit members in terms of public policy, education, creating networking opportunities; and promote the use of direct response fundraising methods for the sector. Additionally, he will serve as the top staff member for the DMANF, leading the execution of projects and setting priorities for the organization together with the volunteer leadership of the DMANF.
“We are fortunate to welcome Chris Quinn as the new executive director at this critically important time for the nonprofit community and its fundraisers, both within organizations and working on their behalf,” said Boone. “The challenges are numerous, as nonprofits must do more with fewer resources, and the organization will be well-served under Chris’ direction and leadership, as well as his extensive policy background.”
Most recently, Quinn was assistant vice president of membership at the AALU, where he was responsible for managing the association’s Membership Department and Issues Alliance Program. Additionally, Quinn was responsible for the coordination of all Association departments in Member Relations, as well as creating and implementing a strategic membership plan that generated over $3 million in membership dues.
Prior to his role at AALU, Quinn served as the finance director for the Reed Hillman for Lt. Governor campaign in Massachusetts. In this role, Quinn developed a general fundraising strategy, planned and executed fundraising events, and managed the candidate’s direct mail campaign and fundraising calling sessions. Before that, Quinn served in a similar capacity for the “Jim Coffey for State Senate” campaign, also in Massachusetts. Before that, he served as legislative analyst in the Office of the Minority Leader in Boston, MA.
